Good grief, Helen! Sorry to hear about that! We have been to the ER 12 times in the last 18 months and the last visit was a fall that required my wife to be in a wheelchair...so, I know how big a shock this sort of thing is. So sorry about the fall and the surgery...
Mend well, and get better fast!

Wow! That's doesn't sound like it was any fun. Hope you heal quickly and can get those bills paid as well. Also glad it wasn't any worse. Falls from just slipping on the ground can do a surprising amount of damage.

This is what I used on my last trip to Alaska. Worked very well.
Ektar 100 in the OM (with 35/50/180), Tmax 100 in one M4P, Tmax 400 in the other (with 35/50/90).
I use SLRs only when I need them: for color (Pol filters), teles and macros.
Roland.

Due to back problems my kits are as likely to be storage for travel, with just what I think I will need out of the car. Kits I have, not in order of use, since there isn't one:
Mid-sized canvas-weave vinyl bags:
1. Kiev 4am with 50 f/1.8, Jupiter 50 f/2, 35, 85 and 135. A Russian turret finder, a Vivitar 185 flash, a Gossen Luna Pro, a Zeiss 6x9 folder, and film.
2. Contax 167mt, Contax T* 50 f/1.4, Phoenix/Samsung 18-28, Vivitar 28-70, Vivitar 75-150. Yashica FX 3 (backup), vivitar 185 flash, 2x extender, Welti 645/6x6 folder, film for both.
Large canvas camera bag:
Fujica ST 901, Fujinon 50 f/1.4, 28mm, 135mm, Vivitar TX 24mm and 300mm, Spiratone 18mm, 185 flash, accessories including about 10 filters, and film.
Aluminum clam shell case:
Mamiya Super Press 23, 100mm, 150mm, 250 mm, 65mm, 50mm, cut film gg holder, 8 cut film backs, 2 extra 6x7 film holders. This is definitly a storage medium.
Vinyl food bag (stealth bag?
):
Kodak 9x12, with 120 back, Welti Weltini, Gossen Luna Pro SBC, Sekonic L28c2, as many cut film holders as I want at any given time, film for the Weltini.
Sadly, the most important part of all these kits is the time to use them. That is in critically short supply. Apparently it is strickly rationed and I long ago exceeded my lifetime allotment.

Glad you are OK, Helen!
I don't really carry any "kit" unless traveling, and then it is simply a container for all sorts of random gear.
Typically, I just grab something from the shelf that sparks my interest or is suited to what I intend to shoot. Occasionally, I will take two cameras with me.

Recovering GAS addict.
Ouch. Helen, count one more wish for a speedy recovery.
a) Day-to-day kit - Nikon FM3a, F4 and D3; FM3a with Tri-X or Delta 400; F4 with Provia 100. AF 17-35mm f/2.8, 35mm f/1.4 Ai-S, AF 50mm f/1.4D, AF 105mm f/2DC. Occasionally some other Nikkor lenses, but 90% of the time, the 35mm sits on the FM3a, the 17-35 and 50mm sit on either of the AF bodies. In a Kata backpack of some sort or the other.
b) Travel & fun kit - Leica M4, 35&50mm Summicrons, 90mm Elmarit. Tri-X and a Sekonic meter. Incidentally, this kit weighs just a tad more than the D3 body alone. Occasionally use Delta 3200 as well, for instance when attending live shows. In a small canvas bag custom-made by a skilled artisan. (That is, my mother made it for me after I brought her the fabric and sketched out what I'd like.

With you worrying about recovery, now isn't the time to be correcting a spelling error on you. But you spelled scared with an extra "r" as if you thought you would not still be as attractive. And you're not going to make any of us believe that!
Do get better soon.
