What is the Mini M ?

It'll be another camera that aims for the travel/family user market and doesn't threaten existing Ms. That means fixed lens and probably APS-C. A rebranded GX2 is also a possibility.

It will be a camera that some will run out on impulse & buy. Make a You Tube video opening the box & fondling the camera. Pretty soon they will post a thread on some quirk on likes & dislikes. Later ask for sympathy from others about having to send it back to Leica USA or Solms for repair. Post a thread patting Leica on the back on their quick turn-a-round. Finally selling camera in the classifieds. That's what kind of camera it will be.😀

It will be a full frame fixed lens AF camera...w/ summarit/elmarit lens...will include a EVF...

but´s going to be very very expensive...they dispalyed it just one step below the m system...and neamed the x2 as a micro m...

Leica needs to catch the apsc stampede from japanese makers...or at least join it...

who knows, perhaps leica will rebrand the epson rd1x with a more resolving sensor and a quieter shutter...taking off the AA filter...

I voted an interchangable lens, new Leica design, full frame, digital camera. It'll use the M mount, else why call it an M? It'll also be quite expensive.

I think it is going to be something like the X1/X2 but with M mount. ...
Yes, this is my thought too. "Mini M" may be abbreviated MM, confusing the M Monochrom... I like "Mini-ME" suggestion! 🙂 Or if it is an X variant, then "XM" would be reasonable. But "Mini M" does suggest M mount and smaller body.

Some people think it will be a total disappointment.
But the scale of disappointment has seen a seismic shift recently, and perhaps none too soon.
Think something Lunar- esque with a red dot. Not gonna happen.
My guess is an m- mount, no RF liveview APS-h camera with optional EVF.

Funny I was thinking it would be the GX2 internals wrapped in a new body shell ( shell made in Portugal - final assembly in Germany ).
I think Leica have more design taste than the Lunar - so it would look like a scaled down M240.

There are already 2 Leica badged m43 lenses - adding a wide; a compact quality zoom and a M mount adopter and that's an well balanced system for very little effort ( co-development ).

I think the stigma that came with the early 4/3 SLR joint offering has worn off and m43 now has sufficient respect to reconsider the smaller sensor.

So that's what destroyed the unicorns--measles? I hadn't realized.

It also occurred to me that the timing of this so soon after the discontinuation of the GXR m mount is a leetle suspicious. So I'll revise my prognostication to bet it'll be something GX-y, whether panaLeicaish or RicohLeicaish.

It will be a camera with the goal to slow down the enthusiasm of Leica owners for their Fuji cameras. It must be somehow better than the Fuji.
