OK, we have been talking about what we all take travelling.
How about the camera which just makes you really enjoy the experience of photography?
NOT anything to do with what you use as a pro, or what has given you the best shot of your life, or is the most versatile.
WHICH KIT DO YOU JUST REALLY ENJOY EVERY TIME IT IS IN YOUR HANDS?
Mine is my iiif, 35 / 2.8 Summaron, 50 2.0 Coll. Cron, 90 4.0 (39mm) Elmar. I just love the mechanical precision and feel of this in use. Small size and common filter size (polarizer, yellow, green, orange) also help out.
It makes me think about composition and exposure much more than digital. I understand the emphasis on exposure, as it has no built in meter. I end up using my Sekonic 308 plus MKI "eyeballs & brain". Why does it make me think about composition more, I don't know. Maybe, since it really slows me down and I am sure about exactly what I want before the camera comes up to my eye. Sometimes with digital, I do take a quick grab shot and crop to get the photo.
I have never put a roll of color film into it, but absolutely love shooting B&W with it. The fingerprint of those lenses is something to be really appreciated on their own. They are different than my M8 and modern glass. Once they were CLA'd, they really began to sing.
I'm curious.
Best,
Ray
