What lens to buy?

I use a Bessa T most of the time. I might be switching back to a Leica M6 this year as my kids are old enough to not trash daddy's camera. The T is a great camera. She takes a winder, has a great rangefinder. Some people think they will save money over an R, but often they find themselves getting Brightline finders which when you look at total cost of ownership cost about the same or more. I started with the T because I knew I loved fast long (for an RF) lenses (e.g. 85/2, 90/2, 105/2.5, 135/2.8).

Ok, yesterday I ordered the Bessa R with 35/2 lens that comes with the kit. Any film suggestions (b/w and color)?? I'll be vacationing on the RI shoreline in a few weeks, so will be doing scenics and kid pictures.

My two favorites are Kodak Plus-X for bw & Fuji Reala for color. Both are just lovely with the sharp & contrasty 35/2.5 CV lens.

I like the Reala for family stuff, especially, because it has a punchiness to the color while still rendering skin tones correctly. And Plus-X is just a wonderful classic medium speed film - fine grained and beautiful tones.

Enjoy!
