What Magazine Do You Regularly Read?

• British Journal of Photography (commonly called BJP)
• Hotshoe
• Aperture (a US magazine, but not on your list)

I too have subscribed to and loved The New Yorker but as it is a weekly for me it's "too much of a good thing".
I could never get through an issue before the next arrived.

I have the same problem with daily newspapers.
While the other New York papers are dreadful The NY Times is great, but it's just too much to get through in a day.

I only read on Internet, LFI, Square Magazine.
British Journal of Photography at Library.
GUP, Image in Progress, BW, Black and White Photography,
all read at Booksellers..
I simply have no space or monies for subscriptions or retail cost.
Too much advertising in most magazines, including Editorial.

I must say that nothing gives me more pleasure than Robert Rotoloni's publication 'Nikon Journal' that comes four times a year with membership of the Nikon Historical Society. It may not be a photography mag in the pure sense, but it sure is fun to read and to keep for reference. To me, Nikon Journal is worth half a dozen newsstand photo mags (if there are that many left!) "Fretboard Journal"......nothing in print regarding film photography is of much interest these days. Read books about photography & photographer bios & go to shows of silver gelatin or alt prints.

I read "Zoom Magazine" for the superb quality of the pictures featured.

Zoom was an iconic photography magazine published in France from 1970 to 1991. Nowadays, the title is published in Italy by Rodolfo Namias Editore:

Back in the latter part of the previous millennium I would occasionally read a photo orientated magazine. Today, all of my related info comes from the web in very non-magazine form.

None. I really do not get anything out of them. Before the internet I used to read German and Dutch magazines in the bookstands. Now I get all the information via the internet and if not, it is not important.

I buy lots of magazines (was long my trade) but only one subscription, which was sold to me by Donald Trump: the New York Times.

I can't believe Rangefinder wasn't included, and not mentioned.

OK, so it's over the top with advertisement, it is the official magazine of WPPI. I find it just a wee bit more useful that Professional Photographer, which was included in the poll.

Both Rangefinder and Professional Photographer are free. They may not say they are, but I get both without paying a penny. Not even my PPA membership anymore. I find the photography, generally, to be very good.

Ads can be a good thing. Back before the internet clobbered mail order, Shutterbug was a very useful publication. I looked forward especially to the annual B&W issue (June, IIRC). Unfortunately, lack of revenue means a lack of funding to pay journalists and other writers for the magazine, and content has suffered miserably.

Monocle. Monocle rarely mentions cameras, and when they do, it can be a head-scratcher. Nikon 1 anyone? But a well produced general interest publication with a global perspective. Heavy on wristwatch ads though.

I recently renewed a subscription to Nat Geo and frankly just don't find myself looking at magazines like I did in the 90s. I don't know what it is. I just can't get into them. I've also tried reading the on an iPad, which doesn't do it for me either.

I have read f11 from NZ from the first issue. Sadly the business model didn't hold up and a great magazine is folding. Hopefully the archive will remain available. Some great interviews and stunning photography.
