What's the point of rangefinder coupling in a 15mm lens? You don't use the builtin viewfinder anyway.1. Compact wide lens, rangefinder coupled :
- 18 mm
- 15 mm

Something similar to the Tri-Elmar from Leica but much cheaper!

A really high quality (optically as well as mechanically) 50 2.5. Perhaps an upgrade to the skopar that will close in on the Summarit, but be cheaper! Or a true 50 Elmar M competitor that collapses to a tiny size

A *full frame* digital Bessa...

Sorry, but digital it is...
Sorry, but digital it is...
I know we're talking about improving the CV bodies and lenses but, given how Mr. K. has teased us with his beautifully simplified lower-cost equipment, its too tempting to think he could come up with the "killer ap" digital camera. So here's my dream low-cost digital image maker:
1) RF body similar to Bessa, M or LTM mount
2) APS-C size sensor (full-frame is unnecessary and too expensive)
3) Camera creates RAW files only... thus avoiding the need to fuss around with white balance
3) Forget the LCD screen... I don't need one to check out my film shots, so why do I need it for digital??
4) Controls: ISO dial, Exp. compensation dial, Shutter-speed dial with "A" (aperture priority).
5) Shutter speed & aperture read-out in viewfinder similar to modern SLR
6) Slot for SD card
That's it! To my way of thinking, these simplifications remove the things I hate about using digital cameras... fussing with menus and having a little tv screen sucking my attention away from the real world.
I think I understand that Mr. K. doesn't want to get bogged down in the modern pixel race that seems to deem all new products instantly obsolete. But I think I also see that a lot of people are beginning to see that something like 8 megapixels on an APS-C sensor has now reached something akin to the quality of 35mm film. So maybe now he can jump in.

hmm....
update remaining lenses to m-mount, and maybe change the speed of some lenses:
:
That would cut out their use by a lot of users, you can always use an adapter the other way!!
Just replacements for some of the discontinued lenses, particularly the 28 Ultron, as I was begining to doubt their commitiment.

There needs to be a fast 28mm lens period as an M8 user i really need one without the leica price .... tighten up the optics of the 35/1.4...

1. 6x6 or 6x7 folder with 80/2.8
2. Compact with fixed 35/2.8

I'll say it again: Nokton 50/1.5 in M-mount with much better build quality and 0.7 min focusing.
Seriously, this lens gives the Leica 50 Summi ASPH a run for the money in sheer picture quality. Why not build it better?

My chrome Nokton is nearly 8 years old, and still as good as new, I think some of you must give your equipment a very hard time!!I'll say it again: Nokton 50/1.5 in M-mount with much better build quality and 0.7 min focusing.

My chrome Nokton has an aperture ring that is very easy to move (eg. by friction on the clothes). It does not have the distinct click of the Zeiss lenses. It feels pretty "cheap"

They must have changed the quality, the aperture scale on mine is quite distinctly click stopped , and certainly doesn't move by accidentMy chrome Nokton has an aperture ring that is very easy to move (eg. by friction on the clothes). it feels as well built as my summicron, honestly!!1 It is however a bit heavy!!

Well, in that case all I can say is "sample variation"

A 75 f2 would be nice.... As would a 50 1.2.

I'd like a compact sonar style f1.4 50 that can focus at .7m and is optimized for close focus wide open. I don't care how it performs at 5.6 and above. A build quality similar to the 35 1.4 SC would do nicely.
Huh, maybe I should just buy the zeiss c sonar?

I'm very interested in all the CV dream products of this forum. It's impressive!!!
Being my favorite CV dealer without any doubt the master Stephen Gandy. I would like to know if he can give us a little taste of the real new CV products that will appear soon.

I wuld like to see an updated all manual SLR patterned after the Olympus OM1 with an even quieter shutter, slow mirror up option for quietness and handholding and with center-weighted metering.

I would like an Ultra wide dedicated body, with a built in viewfinder for the 12mm lens with framelines for the 15mm lens and perhaps thr 21mm too.
The viewfinder will be a distortion free type, so that we could know the exact composition without being fooled by the curved lines that show the current viewfinders.
I would love if COSINA could make a new like orion type adapters tor nikon or contax lens with rangefinder coupling.
Regarding a digital bessa, I would like it to have interchangeable backs, so that we could update the digital sensor, perhaps with a kodak or sony digital module, through some kind of standarisation.

Here I will tell you a dream for architectural photography:
Since asking is for free:
A reflex bessa body with M mount to be used with Ultrawides.
This will be a thicker body, with a film plane that could move back and forward the lens at the time of exposure, so that the mate screen and mirror could move out of the lens axis before the film plane moves forward to the lens to perform the exposure.
