What new Voigtlander RF or SLR product would you like to see?

A distance scale visible in the viewfinder so that when I am working quickly with a wide angle lens, I could quickly set the focus to an estimated distance without taking the camera from my eye. It shouldn't be too hard to do since that info is coming off the rangefinder cam. When I have lots of depth of field, I don't need the accuracy of the rangefinder patch which is slow because I have to get my brain involved with that. Joe

digital RF that directly prints 8x10 proportions without cropping

digital RF that directly prints 8x10 proportions without cropping

An aspect ratio of 5:4 , thats 30mm x 24mm would be perfect new digital format for common final print sizes.

Thats a 1.2x crop that solves the vignetting problem digital sensors have and yet makes common lenses more usable than aps-c sized sensors that strip away the wide angle of lenses.

For instance a 21mm would be like a 24/25mm a 28mm would be 33mm and a 35mm would be a 42mm.

I would like to see a 12MP sensor with internal image stabilization and at least noise free iso 1600 performance.

A fast lens at iso 1600 and image stabilization should be good for shooting 1/2 second shake free low light images because a RF has no mirror slap like and slr and Image stabilization would give 3 stops less hand shake.

Since I love handling of OM cameras I'd like to see Bessa Rx rangefinder camera with shutter speed ring around lens mount (a-la OMs) plus I'd love to see wide/fast VC primes - 21mm f4, 28mm f1.9, 35mm f1.2, 35mm f1.4, 35mm f1.7, 40mm f1.4, 50mm f1.4, 50mm f2 - introduced in OM mount ;)

Take all the sexy high-speed rangefinder lenses that they're producing with Leica mounts, and make them available to those of us who shoot with Nikon rangefinders.

I want a chrome R4A for my ZM chrome lenses.

Also hope they will make for Zeiss the ZF/ZK lenses in C/Y mount.

I would like to see:

1. Better flare resistance in Voigtlander lenses, comparable to the Zeiss ZM lenses.

2. An f/2.8 ultra-wide lens that does not cost $4000.

3. Lenses with barrel focusing, rather than focus tabs.

4. The return of metal lens caps.

ALL of my CV lenses past and present have this front wobble. I once sold my 40/1.4 here and the buyer complained about the wobble and did not accept my explanation that it was normal and I ended up giving him a generous partial refund so he could send it to DAG. I stopped buying CV after that since I couldn't in good conscience list one for sale and not give this disclaimer.

Aside from this complaint I would like to see Cosina make a Contarex body.

I would like to see Leica m mount nokton sized (small) 24/25 f1.4 rangefinder coupled lens and a 75mm f1.4 as well.
Also Nikon F mount and M42 screw mount 24mm f1.4.
On the really wishing side a fixed lens (28mm~ 35mm equivalent) f2 digital point and shoot with an optical finder somewhere around 10 mg pixels with really good noise ratios at asa 1200.
I will also vote for a nice vari-focal finder ( similar to the old Nikon or Tewe finders) say 35mm eqivalent 24-200mm.

What about a Bessa body with a .72 finder but with a built in pop up auxilary finder for 21 and 25mm lenses (a la a pop up flash).???

Reflex Bessa M mount for Ultra Wide Heliar 12mm

This already exists. The 12f5.6 also comes in a Nikon F mount. Mirror up setting and a finder mounted on a replacement prism "roof". Works very well and i just dedicated an old F with a "crappy" mirror for it.
The market for a dedicated Bessa R style body and a 12/15 is probably too small for a production run of such a set up.

What's the point of rangefinder coupling in a 15mm lens? You don't use the builtin viewfinder anyway.

Philipp
It is not that important on a 24x36 rangefinder, but if you use it on a M8 or RD-1, it becomes a 21 or 25mm lens, and that can become critical. Problem is that you would loose the 0.3 meter close that you have with the uncoupled version. The rangefinder on the M's, ZM's and the Bessa's are limited to a 0.6 /0.7 meter close focus.
