I think a 85mm sonnar 2.8 would be a wonderfull added value to the zm lens line up.
Must be possible for about $800

But, yes, to me its the only good and logical choice - a good fast 50mm lens.

Not exactly. Three of the designs have never been tried and the fourth hasn't been tried in over 50 years.

I'd pre-buy one if it were competitively priced like all of the other ZMs have been.
I'd forgotten the Super-Q Gigantar -- thanks for the reminder!kram said:Also, you weren't refferring to the Zeiss 'Super-Q Gigantar' lens were you😱
All I can say is 'speed freaks you will be in crying for joy, people who like quality optics - you will be crying in your beer'😀
:bang: silly me, I ment to say 4/6 of a stop faster.kram said:I thought a f1.2 as it is just over a stop faster than the current f1.5
It think I know were you are comming from, a flagship lens to say ' this is what we are capable of' - which others can only aspire too. Hummm OK, as long as they will also do the lesser lens (e.g f1.4 35mm) as well. Also you have me beat - its not a tri or quad focal length lens (21-25-28-35 f4😕, nor a f2 21mm😕 , nor a f1 50mm😕 , and the super-Q Gigantar is out🙄Roger Hicks said:brigade who are looking for ultimates!
