Can anyone post shots taken with an Oly 21, Nikon 20, and/or CV 21 of a similar scene? I'd be interested in comparing these slr wides to RF wides. From what you read, this is where the RF lenses excel.
totally agree with this. However... I think if you want to concentrate on a 50mm, you need to be shooting with your M.
But for tele or wide, nothing beats looking thru the viewfinder of your OM.
I never liked wide angles until I found the OM.
Thanks, Wilt. I used TMax 3200 shot @ 1600. Sticky shutter on an OM2 ruined every other shot on this roll except this ONE. It was a ravioli miracle. Scanned with Coolscan 9000.
I've tried many of the primes and stick with the wides as favorites.
The 2/28 is a serious runner up to the Zeiss Hollywood distagon. Also love both of the 21's although I was fool enough to sell my 2/21 for a distagon 2.8/21.
These are on the 5D with one B+W from tmax100. Forgot to remove the hood on that moonlight shot so you see some corner darkness. The lens was mounted on a 40D previously in the day (bigger hood)
went through the same thing and decided to concentrate on Nikon for my digital and when the desire is there, my M2 for film. If only Leica would make a D700 rangefinder!!!!! I sold everything else.
Haha, Chris, I'm glad you saw him in there as well. 😛

It was really hard to let go of my "beausage" FM3A, beautiful F3 and assorted lenses, but I am totally happy with the decision and I'm not looking back. Nikkor, at least to me personally, was often superior sharpness, contrast, "higher spec" but Zuiko had the character that I couldn't resist. And oh that tiny body and huge finder of OM!
I'm trimming down my system to bare minimum.
Leica M, OM, Hassy 500C/M and I am golden. (well, and a Rollei 35) GAS now can fully go into glasses and such.
I have a very nice (KEH EX) 85/2 version 3 that needs a new home since I sold the rest of my OM kit. I will list it in the RFF classifieds (again) when I get home from work this evening.
I got the OM-1 as a pre-graduation gift back in the 70's, with the 50/1.4. Now I have the 35/2, 40/2, 50/1.2 and 85/2. The 35mm is the odd man out in this group and though it is a fine lens I no longer use it. Love the other lenses.
