For flexibility and when there are no space/weight concerns, I really prefer the Olympus IS-3. When things are tight, a Pentax QD170 IQ.

Can't comment on the Lumix myself but someone I spoke to had been very impressed by it. Sorry I can't be ore specific. Digicams I find in general to be a PITA but they have their uses I suppose.

Long story short, My "new" point and shoot is a 25 year old auto-everything Canon Sureshot that I got for 66¢.
