What software with Epson 3590?

For those of you out there that are using an Epson 3590 to scan B&W negs, how well does Epson's software work? I'm about to go out and buy one, and I'm wondering if I should even try Epson's software or jump strait to something like VueScan.

If it makes any difference, I'm am an 'advanced' photoshop user...

I have the Epson 3490. I'm not a scanning expert but I'm happy with the results I get with the factory software.
