Came across this on the Bay just now.
Never seen it.
Never heard of it.
Googled it and got next to nill.

What is it?
Snowflake's chance in hell that it works?

I googled for "ITV" and it might be an acronym for Industrial Television.

If that lens was designed for video use, then the image circle will be very very small, like 1/2 inch in diameter.

(Just a guess though...)

Just what it says, " Lens was originally for TV, it was remount to use on Leica M camera.
Lens focus to infinity, couple with reangefinder, you may use it on any M camera. Glass looks excellent condition, see no scratch or fungus. use 62mm filter."

Very similar to the Canon 50/0.95. Why would Canon be the only manufacturer of a lens of this sort for TV?

So it will not work?
Or is it a rebranded Canon .95?--in which case it would.

If you look at the rest of his stream, it very clearly works. Although, I don't know how much of the image he's cropped. But it looks preeeeety good. Very very interesting. Wonder how much one of these go for?

Edit: After some research, a Schneider one goes for ~$600, It then takes modification to convert it to M-mount. I've also found out, our very own Dirk Rosler acts as a intermediate to the "Mr. Miyazaki" who offers this service. Since Mr. Miyazaki doesnt take international orders. It's not cheap though.

The lens is scrap, and barely worth the money - these things were not calculated to satisfy much more than the 500kPx TV resolution, and that only within a image circle smaller than APS. If any, it would do as a low DOF soft portrait lens for a M8 - but so would the bottom of a coke bottle.

ebay prices recently have been rather high, but that probably is due to a mixture of shill bidding and uneducated buyers. Unconverted CCTV lenses with similar spec usually go for $10-30 at surplus dealers, and sometimes even show up, along with more desirable bits, in $10 surprise bags from the same.

The way it is worded, I am almost tempted to grab it and sue him for delivery of the M6 it is "on". Not worth the hassle in real life though - even though chances to win such a suit are extremely high, most people who have attempted to put the squeeze on a cardboard box seller have experienced that they had spend much more money going after him than they could ever get back...

Sue him? Geez. It'll cost more for you to hire an attorney in California than the M6 is worth, even if you had a case. 🙂 Refer to the 'camera not included' wording.

It's a TV lens, looks like they took an LTM adapter and an OM helical. From the look of the rear element, it should cover the 35mm frame no problem.

Looks like a copy of the old Canon 50mm f/0.95 with a different rear element and a Leica screw to M adapter.

There's a guy on RFF who has a Wollensak lens in an Olympus 50mm SLR focusing mount, with an M adapter to the rear. RF coupled and all. I know for a fact he bought that lens from this seller, and that the seller had made one before.

On this lens, the focusing mount also is from an Olympus SLR 50mm lens.

This seller just last week sold a refitted Voigtlander Nokton and some other lens I forgot, I was following both but prices went high. Don't know who this seller is, but he seems to have a batch of collectible lenses which he can fit to RF coupled mounts. Keep an eye on!
