I would have voted obsessive compulsive and sometimes indefferent but that wasn't one of the options.
I like street so voted for that :)

Ok...so I put street. because when I have spare time that's usually where I head for pictures, but really I take pictures of anything: Landscapes, skies, people, holidays... all amateurish but highly satisfying and fun.

I shoot--or have shot--just about everything non-professional at one time or another so it's impossible to pick only one category. I am a welder/fabricator/machinist by trade so I've always been interested in things mechanical--cars, bikes, boats, trains, working machinery, bridges, structures; you name it--so I shoot a lot of that. But then I do shoot some people; family and friends, a bit on the street sometimes. I'm also a pretty avid naturalist so I do drift that way from time to time--often on an "opportunity presents itself" basis. I live in a rural area so I have shot a lot of cows. How many cow pictures do you have? If shooting people in their environment is "street" photography then is shooting cows in theirs "field" photography? All I know for sure is that my photographic tastes are way too diverse to lump into a single category...

I really like the results I am seeing on this poll. There are a number of interesting trends here that are worth considering.

The one that stands out most for me is that of the relatively small amount of users in photojournalism or documentaries.;)

I voted for wedding. This is the business that gets me enough money to finance my hobby, shooting street and portraits with over priced analog camera gear...

My alter ego shoots most of the time these days. I call him inebriation, but he insists on his self-titling "Dr. Flow & The Brute Force".

I am astounded that "lens tester" is at 0% with over 200 voters. Yet, that appears to be about the most popular topic here.

I agree Bob, that's why I included it...but I guess nobody wants to admit it.

Nothing to "admit" really.

Everyone here test their lenses at some point in time.
Some may do more rigorous testing, others (myself included) just "test as you go" as part of the test roll of a new camera.

But I don't think anyone sets out to take up photography *just* to test lenses.

Unless you work in a camera factory. But then again you'd call that "work" not photography :)
