Out of interest, what's wrong with 1/1000? The curtains move at the same speed, don't they? Just a narrower slit.
Never had problems with 1/1000th with my IIIc, though I recall reading here this speed was more accurate on the IIIc then on the IIIa.
Looks like yours is capping Bukaj.
Here's a nice example of non-parallel curtains (in this case on a Perfex 55 at 1/1250th missing the metal strip on the closing curtain)

I've travelled quite a lot with my IIIf since buying it in 1969. It's never had any problems suddenly happen while travelling. If it's been recently serviced and you have put a few rolls through it since then, my advice would be to take it along and don't worry.

I think if I was going on a long trip and needed a camera I could trust totally a screwmount Leica would be high on my list ... but an earlier version without the unecessary 1/1000 top speed and low speed mechanism.
The simpler the better IMO.
