I have no idea why I am contributing to this madness!

In order of acquisition. Watch me grow as a photographer.
Currently have, or have on order

Pentax ME. The camera used to take pictures of me in diapers. I just wanted to learn how to take pictures, nothing more.
Digital Rebel. Because film was getting expensive.
Holga (now broken) -- I spent too much time post-processing my digital pics to look like film.
Bronica ETRS. Beater condition. Given to me by somebody who didn't know how to use it.
Mamiya 645e. It was time to give the bronica to another learner and get my own 645.
Pentax ME Super, because the original ME wasn't up to 100' lengths of tri-x.
Voigtländer Bessa-R. Because I take photography seriously and I feel growingly hostile toward camera technology.
Crown Graphic 4x5. I love my girlfriend, and her dad, who picked it up for $20 at a garage sale, not even sure if it worked.

The crown graphic, because it offers the most challenge and the most reward.

This experiment in rangefinder photography has been a success and it might be time to step up to an M6 or an MP, or even the ikon should it prove sturdier than the bessa.
I've always wanted an MX - of the entire pentax line, it is by far the closest to what I want out of my cameras nowadays - minimal automation, maximum creativity.

I would be interested in hearing from others if there were any cameras on their lists that redefined their photography - it's funny how the cameras on my list are progressively more difficult and less forgiving in use.

I'm frugal compared to you folk. Even so I have too many cameras, considering how much I shoot or how little experience I have.

Current:
Minolta CLE
Nikon F3/T
Fuji GA645
Bronica SQAi

Have had some others in the past. Will have others in the future. Will surely replace the SQAi and GA645 with other similar ones. Have had my eye on other 6x6 cameras (particularly SL66, Mamiya 6). Maybe some larger MF RFs (6x7).

Keepers:
CLE (not from 1st hand experience here, only from reckoning)
F3/T (reliable, durable, not afraid to abuse it, feels great)
? can't decide between the other two. Love the formats, not so much the machines themselves. But they take great pictures.

Wish list:
Zillions of things. I'm sure I'll cycle through a bunch of cameras I perceive as desirable before I can settle on what I really like. Not afraid to be ambitious either. Contenders:
Various Leicas, Arcbody, Mamiya 6, SL66. Never used LF, but I'm sure there ought to be some on this list.

Just keep living. It'll happen. I have 5 Leicas (IIIa, 2x M2, M4-P, MP) and 5 'real' Nikons (original F).

Ya know, I don't think I ever thought of photography as a collective hobby until I joined this place. 🙂 Some of those lists in this thread are impressive! 🙂 Even for somebody who isn't really a hardcore equipment junkie.

I've always wanted one, and in a way I still do, but I'm happy with what I have, at least for now, anyway. Besides if I got that, I would have to get lenses and ... 🙂

Back when I was in high school and first getting into this, the Nikon F and the Leica were the holy grail! I couldn't afford either, so I got a used Mamiya rangefinder, and after that a Pentax Spotmatic, which was a really decent second choice for a SLR.

The question is, would I take any better photos with a Leica M{whatever} or a Nikon F{whatever} than I do now with the Canon GIII or the Pentax K1000? I really don't think so, to any significant degree, anyway. 🙂

At least in this place people aren't asking you "when are you going to go digital" all the time. 🙂 🙂

hmm...some sort of leica with a 35 lux, 50 cron/lux, and maybe a 90?, though i haven't done the research yet because i am waaaay too poor, a hassy, and maybe an AE1 with a FD 300mm 2.8L for sports (though the more I think about it, the more I am adverse to big huge slr's)

These are my normal shooting cameras, so it makes sense. The only time I use my F4s anymore is if I'm going somewhere dodgy and feel like I might need to bludgeon someone.

Some time ago I was thinking of myself as "camera maniac" (people asked me several times :why have you so many cameras...do you use more than one at the same time?) but recently I discovered that I´m not the only one and surely won´t be the last one with such "illness". I started taking pictures at 7 y.o. with my dad, and 45 y. later I´m stil doing it, just for the pleasure it brings to me. Started with a Wirgin 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 foldable, later adopted a Voigtländer Vitomatic IIb (unfortunately, both were lost some time ago), but those were dad´s cameras. I received several donations which started me the idea of collecting cameras, but... why not to use them? So, I did it. One day I said to myself ...if some of those are not working cameras, is there any reason not to bring them back to life?
Then I started repairing my own cameras, of which several were bought in non working condition. I think it´ll be interesting to know who of Us do their own camera service, or just take pictures either for amusement or profession.
Perhaps this addiction has several different stages, who knows!

A simple answer would be: Have more than I'll ever need, yet less than I'll ever be happy to own. A couple pics I like: the Ebay 1 pic is a fellow's collection during the course of a year. The second picture is an old one of 4 shelves in my computer area. I have a total of 23 in the computer room and two china cabinets + two long shelves in the basement. (Ok plus a few boxes under a bed, an army footlocker,a steamer trunk, and 18 smaller drawers) Please no laughing at the shelves (they're different now I promise) and hope the pictures are attached properly as this is my first attempt.

Well, in order of acquisition: Minolta SRT-101 (my dad's), Minolta XG-M, Canonet GIII QL17, Pentax Spotmatic, Pentax K1000, Minolta Maxxum 7.

Keepers:
SRT: can't really give away my dad's camera!
XG-M: bright screen and will use Pentax M42's with my adaptor
Canonet: such lovely images, we could never part!
Maxxum 7: it's new and fast, and does everything I never knew I wanted (though a little whiny!) ... well, not really

Off comment about the K1000, the thing shakes in my hand from the mirror slap! Long live the rangefinder!
