Hi, I am considering to buy a ZI body these days.
I see price around $1000 on ebay.

How much did you pay for your ZI body?
Is there anywhere else I can buy an used body now?

Thank you!

🙂

I paid about £550 GBP for mine. It's practically mint. I do think one with a grip is a nice idea if you want to use a tripod though, the tripod bush is on the side of the camera making it difficult to get the camera straight, especially if your tripod is cheap like mine. The grip moves the tripod bush to the centre of the camera.

I picked up a limited edition body on ebay that had only 3 rolls run through it for $800USD. This was before Zeiss's little price increase however.

What other paid in the past will only be a very rough guide as prices vary based on supply vs. demand, strength vs. weakness of your local currency, and motivated seller vs. motivated buyer.

I have 2 ZI bodies bought in great condition for less that the lower end here that just about everyone here mentioned. But it was when the US Dollar was stronger and I waited patiently for a very motivated seller. But I could not replace them now for what I paid for them.

Check the KEH price for the current market. Other than the occasional transaction involving a very motivated seller or uninformed buyer, they pretty much set the market.

Don't undervalue undervalueing Daniel! I hate auctions/sales that drag on and on, and have realized that getting a speedy sale is much less stressful than waiting for something to sell. I'd rather have the quick small money than the slow bigger money.

Heh, thanks for the reassurance. I usually feel the same way, and honestly it isn't like the difference of a hundred dollars or so is really going to get me THAT much closer to being able to afford an M9!

Consider the CV 35mm f/1.4 lens too, it's very good, cheaper and a bit faster than the ZM.

That's not to criticize the ZM, I'm quite sure it's a great lens and really looks the part on the ZI.
