I think I'm missing one or two in there somewhere. It's been a fun ride, I've decided I like 4x5 and will stick with the Tech (probably my most favourite camera I have had to date).

Will pick up some medium format folders (6x6 and 6x9) and play with those for a while with the Technika :)

1991: Small film fixed-lens point & shoot of unknown make
2004: Miranda MS-2 Super (Grandfather's old camera)
2007: Canon EOS 400D (Move to digital)
2008: Canon EOS 30 (Elan 7e) (realization that I prefer film)
2009: Leica M3 (Mike Johnston's Leica year)
2010: Second M3 (to shoot both B&W and colour slides at the same time)

I still have all of them (except for the P&S, which I passed on to my nephew), though I'm selling some of the Canon glass I bought for film (I'd sell the EOS 30 too, if I thought I'd get something for it)

With the two M3s and four Leica lenses for my personal shooting and the 400D for my digital needs (sports and product shots mostly), I'm pretty much set now, I've stopped lusting for gear (yeah, I know, it's weird. What am I doing here?)

This is fun indeed. And I do stand a chance to get it complete:

1980 Canon AT-1 (still have and use it)
1999 Canon AE-1 program, Canon T-70 (both re-sold later)
2001 Canon FTb-QL (still have it)
2006 Canon EOS 350D (still have it)
2007 Canon EOS 300, EOS 30 (both re-sold later)
2008 Bessa R (re-sold 2010)
2009 Canon EOS 5D (re-sold 2010)
2010 Zeiss Ikon ZM (my main baby)
2010 Yashica Mat

Surpised to see that
(a) my turnover was not that much bigger than the residual
(b) I still do own 5 cameras. So much for downsizing... :D

Here is mine:
1978- at age 6 I started using my first camera, the family Polaroid 600
1983- age 11, my first "real" camera- a Nikon FE2, with a 50mm f1.4 lens. Added a couple of lenses for variety over the next few years. Nothing crazy.
1993- a second body- Nikon FM2n. So far so good- I'm concentrating on shooting.
1998- was given a Leica M3 by an elderly family member who bought it new in 1960.
1999- Descent into madness. Still shooting, but discovered the internet camera forums and endless variety of gear to swoon over.
2009- emerged from coma, owning more than 30 cameras from 35mm to 8x10 (almost all of which I use at least occasionally).

I have been stripping back and now much to my chagrin, I find the only 35mm gear I really use now are my original Nikons and the one original Leica, and a few lenses. And a pair of little Olympus XA's for times when I don't want to carry a bigger camera. And the Nikon digital gear for work; and the LF stuff for my own "real" photography... sigh.

1958 (at age 8): Some Agfa 4.5 x 6 cm film box camera (fixed focus, two exposure settings, one for dim, one for sunny weather
1962 inherited an old (pre-war) Kamerawerke Dresden Praktiflex 35mm SLR w/ 2 lenses. I really learnt photography with this camera. Passed on the camera to my little sister (who unfortunately broke it :( )
1969 Konica Autoreflex T3 (world's first shutter speed priority automatic SLR) w/ several lenses. Great camera, but heavy. Sold it to finance my next camera ...
1976 Canon AE-1- this camera even survived a trip into West Africa's sahel zone! Sold it to finance my next camera ...
1977 Olympus XA for unobtrusive photography
1979 Canon A-1 - this camera saw one trip to Sri Lanka and two to India & Nepal (never let me down!). Eventually sold it to finance new, digital gear.
until 2000 used what I had, spent my money on my family.
2001 Nikon Coolpix 995 - my entry into digital photography. A surprisingly good camera, but too slow for people photography. Sold it to finance my next camera ...
2003 Nikon Coolpix 5000 my expectations of getting a seriously usable camera were somewhat disappointed. Made reasonable pictures however as soon as I understood its limitations. Still much too slow, and too much DOF due to tiny sensor. Sold it to finance my next camera ...
2005 Nikon D70 plus a growing collection of lenses (at last, a serious digital camera), but still insufficient at high ISO.
2008 Nikon D300 - great resolution & usability, good at high ISO, but a behemoth of a camera.
2009 Konica Hexar AF & RF plus several lenses: Return to analog for street photography (still using digital for other areas of photography though)

It seems I should start another selling round ...

Started off with my father's Yashica Minimatic - C
1992 - Bought my own Praktica BMS
1997 -Moved on to Canon EOS 5
and then...
2008- Zenit 12XP
2008 -Zeiss Ikon Nettar
2009 - Zeiss Ikoflex Ib
2009 - Leica IIc
2010 - FED-3b
2011 - Canon EOS 300v
2011 - Minolta 9xi
2012 - Minolta X-700
and I just bought a Minolta Dynax 7000i for less than £5...

Had loads more but they ended up been sold on ePay within the last 3 years....

1970 - *born
mid 1970s - Diana toy camera (broken)
mid 1980s - Kodak DISC 3500 and AGFA Agfamatic 2000 (still have both)

2005 - Agfa Super-Silette Automatic (first rangefinder, present from my uncle, still have it)
2006 - Canon EOS 350D (first DSLR, started lens addiction and GAS, sold)
2008 - Canon EOS 5D (first fullframe DSLR, still have and love it)

2010 - Sony NEX-3 (first cam to use interchangeable RF lenses, still have it)
2011 - Sony NEX-7 (NEX with viewfinder)
2012 - Leica M8 (first digital RF)

Scary..., I just checked my December 2006 response to this old thread and realize I've become a serious gear junky since then. THANK YOU RFF
