What's your favorite Fixed-Lens RF?

Yeah, a GSN. Then shoot the crap out of it, and don't worry about the others. (That said, there are worse guilty pleasures/vices than playing around with old cameras : )

The only thing "wrong" with the GS series Yashicas (and some other early ones) is that they don't have multicoated lenses. This means less contrast and a higher chance of getting flare.

Looking at the purple tint of the Canon GIII lens, it seems to be multicoated, though it may just be mono-coated. I don't know.

Can anyone confirm which, if any, of these 70s RFs have multicoated lenses?

Bessa II

1) 6x9 negative -- bigger IS better ;-)
2) super-sharp 105mm Color-Skopar lens with silent leaf shutter
3) small size (well, at least by medium-format standards)

minolta himatic 7

1. i like the lens
2. i like the feel of the camera in my hands
3. it's the only one i have as of now. (i'm working on convincing some one to part with his canon 7)

Olympus 35-S

1. G. Zuiko 4.2cm 1.8 lens (super sharp with a soft look)
2. All metal, no batteries, leaf shutter
3. Light Value/Exposure Dial on the back

Toss-up (I know, I know...) between Canonet QL17 GIII and Konica Auto S2.

1. Lens
2. Ergonomics
3. Feature set

Regards!

The Konica III M has a very sharp lens [50mm/2.0] and has a 100% viewfinder. It has all manual exposure control and is built extermely well to last. It has a rangefinder. The Konica Hexar AF is not a RF camera. I have the Hexar AF.

Olympus 35 RC

1)size&handling
2)The lens
3)the finish just like a mini-Leica

it replaced a Retina IIc as my backup camera thanks to the lightmeter.

Zeiss Super Ikonta B/MX coated Tessar. Unlike the nice little Olympus XA above my Ikonta can actually take bad photos, but thats my fault.

1) Lightweight and compact when folded
2) Pretty good lens
3) 6 x 6

Obviously there are a lot of good fixed lens RFs out there. My first was an Olympus but after more than 30 years, I don't recall which. I now have the 35 SP. I also have a Petri Computer 35 (surprising no one has mentioned Petri), and three Canonets. I have the 19 and two 17 IIIs. The 17s are my favorite:

Small
Good optics
Manual when wanted.

What's not to like?

Olympus 35RC. Actually I'd like to try an CLA'ed SP, I think it would be a better camera, tho more bulky.
