What's your latest photo gear you sold?

I sold quite a bit of a stuff lately to finance an M8 (which in the end became an M7 and a 7-14 mm Panasonic lens for my GF1). I sold my Canons IVSb, P and 7 with 50, 50 and 35 mm lenses, my Contax III plus two Sonnars, and my Nikon S2 plus 50 and 35mm. I also sold one of my two LTM 3.5 Summarons.

Sold a bunch of Canon FD gear when I stopped shooting 35mm film:
35-105/3.5
70-210/4 (gave that away, actually)
200/2.8
135/2
135/2.8
85/1.2 L (regret that one)
85/1.8
50/1.4
50/1.8 (another giveaway)
24/1.4 L (another regret)
Motor Drive AE-FN
Various hoods, accessories.

More recently, I've sold a few RF items as part of general buy/try/collect/regret/sell gear churn:
Canon LTM 35/2.8 black/chrome
Canon LTM 50/1.5
Leica 50/2 Summicron Rigid
Epson R-D1
Leica 35/2.8 Summaron LTM
Canon LTM 50/3.5 collabsible
Nikkor 85/2 LTM chrome
CV 25/4 Skopar P
CV 15/4.5 LTM
Various, hoods, LTM-M adapters, etc.

And there's plenty more in both categories to go on the block!

it's not so bad....

and if it truly were...why would you want to meet those people in person?
Maybe not. Maybe it's the time delay and shipping annoyances that are the bigger issues.

As to meeting them in person, I guess that's just a time thing too. I don't necessarily object to tire kickers, et al. it's just that I'd like to move the process along.

Or maybe I'm just in a grim mood today.

I sold the following to fund a Leica M9 purchase:

Takahashi FSQ-106ED
SBIG ST-2000XM camera

I figure I'll use the M9 a lot more.

i dislike the packing, addressing and mailing.

i really like the email from paypal saying that 'you have money'

;)

I did not sell, but traded a Canon AE-1 camera for a Nikkor 85mm 2.0 lens in LTM. I was not using the Canon, having switched to the Nikon FM2 so decided to trade it in on the highly thought of Nikkor lens.

Wow, you got the sweet end of that deal!

I recently sold BOTH my 1946 New Bearing "Stepper" Leica IIIC's, to invest in the Canon f1.5/35 and a new battery for my M8. :)

Hardly. After I posted, I realized I probably should have added that cash was paid in addition to giving up the AE-1. Then I reasoned to myself "Oh, no one will notice" Guess I was wrong :D I ended up paying about $400 in cash + the AE-1 to get the Nikkor 85mm 2.0. The Nikkor had received a CLA and was in absolutely gorgeous condition.

I'm finding I really like the Nikkor 85mm, so even with paying $400 I'm happy I bought it.

Last thing I sold was a Fuji GW690ii. Nobody was interested here; sold for quite a bit more on ebay.

Liked the Mamiya 7 better.

M2, rather publicly, with the aid of RFF members. But I have another. How many M-series Leicas does anyone need? I'd sell the M4P if it were worth the effort: I'd still have an M2 and an MP. But it looks like hell and is probably worth more to me as a spare than I'd get for it.

Cheers,

R.

I willingly accept donations. An ugly M4-P would be a great addition to my not so ugly late M4-P

My black M2. I had bought it as a backup while my M7 was away for repair at Leica Solms. Should have kept the M2 though, the M7 has a new defect .... :bang:

Gabor -- I think it is the way it is with M2s, as I have never regretted selling or trading a MP or any other M. But with any M2, I have felt deep regret and loss. The M2 I use now will only be taken from my clutches by my kids after I have gone the way of all flesh.

Latest equipment I sold was a Nikon SP-2005 body.

Ellen, I think $400 and an AE-1 is still a fair price for a CLAed 85/2 -- you should enjoy it!

Indeed I am :)

I just picked up some prints today at Pro Photo Supply here in Portland, Oregon for a portrait photography class I'm currently taking. I was blown away by the images taken with the 85mm Nikkor. I used both a 50mm and the 85mm for the portraits, but I much prefer the images I took using the Nikkor 85mm.

Kind regards,

Ellen

My M8 after three and half years of ownership! It's been a strange relationship ... sometimes I loved it other times it frustrated me.

I supect I'll miss it though and who knows ... when used M9 prices bottom out a couple of years from now I may pick up the DRF batton once more! :D

When I do take out the F4s, it almost always has the 85mm f/1.8 AF nikon lens on it. I'm trying to find a good wide lens to balance it out - ideally an 28mm f/2.8 but haven't had luck yet.

I did pick up a 24mm AI but it was just slightly too wide for me. Hopefully I can find someone who a 28mm is slightly too narrow. :)

sold a cron 50mm (most recent version) and am looking for a 90mm. in this regard, my interest seems to change by the day. today=elmarit 90mm.
