Just got back from a trip and I took a new to me Nikon F4 with 50mm 1.8G. As I also wanted to take a 28mm lens, I decided to take a Nikon Litetouch AF(600) which has a cracker 28mm 3.5 lens.
So that's my little n large combo! What's yours that you have actually travelled with?
Nice combo, Huss. You don't see Lite Touches in the wild any more. I remember selling them in the 90s, even then, only the connoisseurs wanted them. They just weren't as elegant aesthetically and mechanically as Styli.
Canon EOS 1 - 50/1.8
Ricoh GR Digital
Fine taste, here!
Large is a relatively new-to-me Nikon D800 with 24-120/4VR Nikkor.
That lens is the one thing I miss about my full frame digital rig. It was just awesome. Worth every penny, and really without competition.
As for me big has been EOS A2 (EOS 5 to those outside the US) with the Canon 35-135. I was selling these in the 90s and it was the top model that Ritz carried. I think I only sold one. Folks were mostly going for the Elan (100?) or Rebel. The motor drive is quiet and quick. Rewinding is completely silent. But it IS big and heavy, by my standards today. Not quite Nikon F4s-heavy, but not far off, either. It doesn't have a DoF preview, but it goes one step better with its 'DEP' function: prefocus on the near subject, then again on the far subject. The camera calculates the needed aperture and implements it on the third press.
Small is either my Rollei 35 or my Nikon L35AF3. Amazing 35/2.8 lens on this one; I just put some photos up in the point & shoot subforum, in the One Touch thread, if you're interested.
That said, I'm not sure I would call those a combo. I usually will just take one, and my cell phone is back-up. (LG G6, with its second super-wide lens)
