lots of fuji chatter on the forum but not many pics posted...
just an observation...
another observation...most times i see an image that i like it has been taken with the fuji 10-24 zoom.
so of course i'm now trying to find a way to get one without selling anything.
and a question...is a lens like the fuji 55-200 something you might use for an everyday carry?

I guess if your willing to carry the 55-200 everyday the 10-24 would also be acceptable.
In my view the 10-24/4 is to heavy and large for an every-day carry. I find lenses that size too inconvenient to get in and out of a bag (I don't like carrying large bags everyday either) A lens that size also draws attention. I might carry one now and then for certain projects.
I can't say enough good things about the 10-24/4. With LR 6 CC the performance wide open is the best of any four ultra-wid zooms I've used over the years. The flare and ghosting resistance is also superior. The 10-24/4's only weakness is the sharpness at 24 mm is nothing special (about 10% down and best at f 5.6). I guess Fujifilm decided to optimize the design for shorter focal lengths because the center is excellent at 10mm and the best overall sharpness occurs between 14 and 18.

I was questioning the need for the long lens. I tend toward obscurity sometimes.

Great everyday carry only when you need the reach and flexibility it offers.

An "excuse" for me for not posting many photos with Fuji X online is that I use my X-Pro2 a lot for family and friends' family photos (and cats, lots of cats). I don't post them much online. Well, I post a lot of cat pics on Instagram but not much elsewhere.

I don't post photos online. Never have but can't say I never will. I like prints on cotton rag matte paper. That doesn't translate well on screen displays.
A few years ago I would frequently lug around a Canon with a 70-200/2.8 lens. At the time, I never thought too much about it. Not anymore...I'm too old, fat and arthritic. Besides, I seldom use anything longer than 50mm equivalent--although I did buy a rather nice used Fuji 60/2.4 recently that's working out well.
