Do New Yorkers not identify as American ? You're quite right of course, except the scale is different here. Quebec is 2.5x the size of France, I'd have to go farther before people start identifying differently.

Do you know what New Yorkers think of people of New Jersey? And they're closer then Cork is to Dublin......
