Where on earth can somebody in the United States get their hands on a Fuji Klasse?

I've been looking into getting one of these cameras this year as something with advanced options (exposure compensation, aperture priority) that I can take everywhere without having to commit to an SLR (and for locations where the SLR likely won't be allowed to be brought in.

The only problem is, where can they be found? Since it's a Japan-only camera, obviously none of them get imported over here new to the usual dealers. But also, they haven't been popping up used on the point and shoot categories of any the used camera dealers like KEH or BH Photo. I've seen the Klasse S on ebay but the prices, both used and new, are around $100 over the new price listed on Yodobashi (or even more). But I'm not that sure that Yodobashi will ship to the US.

A friend of mine, however, is traveling to Japan near the end of this year and will be including Tokyo in his travels, and I've thought about giving him money for the camera before he leaves, then he could buy the camera for me and bring it back with him. Would the customs duties and other associated taxes for this camera (either if it were brought back by my friend, or mail-ordered straight from a Japanese retailer) be cheaper than buying at the higher price on eBay, or with they turn out to be far more expensive?

One was just listed this morning in the Classified section of APUG. I do not know the seller or have any connection what so ever with him.

If you are trying to find Japan-only products, why not contact Dirk Rossler of Japan Exposures. He is based in Japan and specializes in procurement of domestic-market-only items. URL is:

No personal connection; but I have used them and have been a satisfied customer.

Thanks! JapanExposure's price looks pretty good. Once I have the money put together I will likely be purchasing from there.

I would have suggested Japan Exposures also ... great people to deal with!
