Hi all,
Well, I'm on a 12 day trip to London...day 6 and the batteries on my M7 have died. I have tried everywhere in Central London to find batteries but with not much luck.
Any London Leica users out there who can advise on where to buy so I don't lose any more time shooting?
BTW, great weather in London...so far has been a great trip!!
Cheers.

Pied Bull Court, 2

Also within reach of the Holborn tube station.
You can also stack 4 1.5V cells. Not as tidy but it works.

Those lithium 1/3N batts are becoming hard to find in the US---it used to be that every drug store in town had them on their batt rack, but when I went looking for a couple last week, no store except speciality camera stores had them in stock (and then at $7 a pop). All the more reason to pick up some spares when you find them.

Radio Shack usually has them in the US, but not even they have them always. I just bought a bunch in bulk so I don't have to hunt them down every now and again.

Will there be a problem if one use or stack 4 reguler LR44 batteries?

^^ Only less capacity. SR44 should be better than LR44 and the 1/3N are the best ones.

Tandy (what 'Radio Shack' was called in the UK) were great for getting these 'obscure' things, however, they went in 1999.
Maplin will sort you out, here is a link to all their stores in London: http://www.maplin.co.uk/StoreLocator.aspx?cmd=searchregion®ionid=8

Here in the US Tandy was a leather-working supply house when I was a kid, and I have some dim connection in my head between them and Radio Shack. You went to Tandy to get leather wallet or purse kits, belt buckles, and all those little tools for hand-tooling leather.

I always carry spares in my bag on in my pocket. Mine failed on a shoot one time and I couldn't find any in San Diego of all places. Went to about 10 stores before I found a few. Enjoy your trip.
