Check out my blog!!!
Hey all, I was just wondering if you could direct me towards somewhere where I could find a bronica etrs waistlevel finder? I don't really want to deal with ebay and it seems that KEH is currently out of stock.
Cheers

They're really hard to find, I suspect a lot got thrown out when owners upgraded to prism finders. I ended up stumbling across one at the photography school where I study.
Keep an eye on keh and adorama. Best of luck!

Koh's Camera has new waistlevel finders. Used WLF's do seem hard to find.

Shutterblade on eBay
Shutterblade on eBay
It's been a while for me, but I used to get a lot of Bronica stuff from a seller called Shutterblade on eBay. Mostly ETR, ETRS, and ETRSi.
You may be able to contact them directly, but the info to do so would likely be on one of their eBay listings. Long time seller with good feedback.

How do you use a waist level finder with anything but a square format camera?

Same as with square...

Image is reversed and upside down, same as square. I've used waist level finders on Mamiya 645 and Bronica 645. On old folders the little finders were waist level for formats approximately 6X9cm.

We do have a used eye level finder right now, so it's the kind of thing that could show up at any time.

Not in portrait orientation, if you can avoid it. But then, many (D)SLR's handle none too well in portrait either, and few people ever complain about that.
It can be hard to find spare waist-level finders - they usually were sold along with the camera bodies rather than as a accessory, and on 6x4.5 systems, they mostly ended in a spare parts box pretty immediately when the original owner attached a eye-level finder. Those that still survive tend to be re-mated with a body before being sold, while the more expensive prisms are split out, so that spare prisms outnumber spare WLF by a magnitude or more...

Yes, I know that, but to be able to shoot both portrait and landscape you must be able to view both looking down and turning the camera and looking from the side. That just doesn't seem reasonable and it is why most of us use a prism finder of some sort. It is a reasonable thing with a rotating back like the RB, or RZ.Image is reversed and upside down, same as square. I've used waist level finders on Mamiya 645 and Bronica 645. I spent 3 months trying to find one for my SQ-A. I hit up every craigslist/RFF/Apug seller who had a bundle for sale with more than one finder. I eventually found a seller willing to part with one for $75.
If I was buying a Bronica again, I'd definitely look for a kit that included a WLF. They're hard to buy individually and seem disproportionately expensive. As a result, sellers tend to keep them with the bodies.

I don't think the image would be reversed, as you have a mirror in there to reflect up to the screen, unlike a LF camera. It would just be flipped left to right.
I have a big recommendation for anyone buying from Koh's camera. Sammy Koh is the real deal. I always know that when I order something from him I don't have to ask about condition or worry about shipping. He is the best.
