When: First or second week of September
Duration: One week (I live in Southern California)
Who: Just me and my wife

Criteria:

- Outside of the lower 48.
- Purpose: R&R and photography
- Not too crowded
- Photographically interesting (yeah, I know) - preferably landscapes and environmental portraits (portraits of people where they live and work).
- For the past year and a half, my mobility has been limited due to lower back issues (I now walk with a cane), so mountain trails and other semi-inaccessible places are out. Steps, streets and level-ground packed-dirt trails are okay.

Gear:

- Either DSLR or A7R; either body with 2-3 lenses
- WIll bring a travel tripod; may bring a macro lens, if needed.
- ZI will likely stay at home. This may be my first all-digital trip.

Candidates:

- Kauai - never been to this island

- Canadian Maritimes - been to parts of Canada but not the Maritimes

- Belize - never been

- Bahamas - never been

- Jamaica - never been

- Others?

NON-Candidates - Have been to these and am ruling these out for this trip:

- Mexico, Alaska, other islands in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica

Thanks for your suggestions.

I'm going to Port Townsend, WA for the Wooden Boat Festival Sept. 5,6 7, and will then check out the San Juan Islands and Victoria, BC. If time permits we may also see some of Olympic National Park. Lots of ferries there to get around.

BC is one of our favorite destinations, but we usually go towards the end of June so we can spend Canada Day (July 1st) either at Butchart Gardens or some other location. Unfortunately, I have too many other commitments around that time; otherwise, we'd already be booked for that trip.

So, I have go in September. Have fun on your trip!
