These are fantastic cameras. I have an Aires 35v. It has a 45mm 1.5 coral lens that is beautiful. I believe it was built to rival a Leica. It can't compare to an m2 or m3 but I think it bests my m6 for build. The lens has a leaf shutter if I recall. Maybe I'll take mine out soon!

I don't think any leaf shutter 35mm camera ever came to rival the M series Leicas, the Voigtländer Prominent came the closest.

No. The 35V couldn't beat the m2/m3, but as far as its build, fit, finish goes it is better made than my m6 without a doubt. My only real complaint about it is the 1/400th shutter speed.
