This thread is over 3 years old. so- Not sure which camera the OP repaired.

FWIW, the Retina Automatic III is easy to work on. The top pops off with 3 screws after undoing the rewind Knob. Never replaced the seals on mine. The Xenar is a nice low-contrast lens, on par with an Elmar. The Lightmeter works in mine, and is accurate. Gossen made the meter.

And the OP still signs onto RFF occasionally. Would like to see what he ended up doing...
 
To go against the grain here ... why have you purchased 4 cameras that might need a CLA? The cost of the cameras plus the CLA would be similar to getting one good camera in working condition.

I speak from experience as i have done what you did and it didn't work for me , I wish i had read more, thought more about what i need then saved hard.

Youxin Yee gets plenty of excellent recommendations on this site and if you think a Leica might be in your future have a look at his Ebay page or maybe give him a call
