Canon LTM Which Canon 35mm LTM lens?

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
I would go for the early all chrome Serenar/Canon 35mm f2.8, these just look cool on Barnack type cameras and not a bad lens at all....very comparable to my Nikkor 3.5 cm f2.5 lens in LTM

Agreed, my rangefinder/lens combo of choice so far in 2020.

Another vote for the Canon 35mm f/2 LTM. Looking at recent sold prices on the Big Auction site, the value of this lens seems to have gone up a bit. In any case, here's a Flickr group with some image samples. Full disclosure, I created the group, but there are image samples from others, including several RFF members.

I'm a big fan of both the Canon 35mm f1.8 LTM and the Canon 35mm f2.0 LTM lenses. I find the Canon 35mm f2.0 LTM to be similar to a first or second generation Leica 35mm Summicron. They are difficult to find though, and I noticed this one this morning on the auction site. I have no connection with the seller, though I have purchased from him in the past.

I wonder which Canon lens the OP got... this thread is now 3 years old...

In the meantime, I’ll keep shooting my Canon 35/2.0, and wishing for a return to dining in...

Lovely work Bingley. I'm looking forward to a return to Le Marais as well ;)
That Canon 35 shows beautiful character.

You really can't go wrong with any - focus on finding a clean copy of any in your price range. I have owned and used the 35/2.8, 2.0, and 1.8. They are all excellent picture takers when in good condition. Had the 2,8 and sold it - big regrets. A great all-around lens. Got a 1.8 and love it, incredibly sharp through the middle apertures. Flare, glow, and "character" for days wide open. Just found a 2.0 for a very reasonable price (right here!) and so far, looks even sharper in the middle than the 1.8 - much more "normal" wide open. BTW - I have the Skopar too, it's a modern gem and you should have one. Any of these can be found (with some effort perhaps) for $250-$350

Has anyone here ever owned or used the Canon 35/1.5? I find this lens intriguing - not many 35's this fast, now or then.

I use it now and then. Quite a small lens for it's aperture. I don't think there is a faster LTM 35mm lens than this. Although not relevant to the original topic posted, here are some photos from the lens taken with a Konica Hexar RF using Agfa Vista 100 film anyway..

David, If you search in the Canon RF forum you’ll find a number of threads on the Canon 35mm f1.5. There was a member here years ago, who went by the handle “trittium,” who had a thread devoted to a large number of photos taken with the 35/1.5, but that thread seems to have disappeared... at least I couldn’t find it. Raid had (and may still have) a Canon 35/1.5, and posted some pics with it in one of the other Canon RF threads.

Of all the lenses I have owned, one of my top regrets has been parting with a great example of a Canon 25mm f/3.5. It is the only relatively cheap and available Topogon-design rangefinder lens (GOOD LUCK finding the Nikon RF 25mm f/4 or an actual Contax RF Zeiss Jena Topogon for less than all the money you currently have).

I think this is the thread that Bingley is referring to:

More recently, another member started a thread with some sample images as well:
