12/5.6 (Like it and use it very much, either on the M3 or the R-D1s)
28/1.9 (Love/hate relationship)
35/2.5 (Lovely lens but now sandwiched between the 35/1.2 and the Summaron 35/3.5, maybe will sell it)
35/1.2 (Keep getting stunned by image quality on the R-D1s)
50/1.5 (This image quality should be forbidden for this price)
Ordered a Summicron 28/2 ASPH, probably selling the 28/1.9 (or keep it on the M3 for street shooting).
Had the 28/3.5 for a week, sent it back, bad match with the R-D1s, AFAIC.

This IS a difficult question because the angles of view are quite different, and the best method of choosing is on that basis. But from what's said on the Cameraquest website, it seems the 12mm has slightly better build and optics, and a nicer viewfinder.no_doubt_kit said:12/5.6, 15/4.5.
which is better?

I have the 15mm, 21mm and 35 f2.5MC. I also owned, but have since sold, the 28mm 1.9, 75mm and 90mm. The 28 was too close to the 35 and 21, so it had to go. Anything over a 50mm is usually too long for me.

Very confused
28/3.5, 35/2.5, 35/1.2, 50/2.5, 90/3.5 and very satisfied for 35mm. No other RF lenses at this time.
If I someday get an M8, I'll probably also get a 21, maybe CV also.

Have the 35/2.5 on my S3-2000. Sold a 21/4 I used on the M6. Both are nice; wish I'd kept the 21.

What I have so far...
15/4.5 Heliar. It was my first CV lens and came "free" with my used R2.
21/4 Skopar. Learning to use it but love it so far. Will post a review on my CV Fansite as soon as I can put the images together.
25/4 Skopar. Permanently attached to a Bessa L. Awesome combo.
28/1.9 Ultron. My current favorite lens. I wrote a review about it HERE.
35/1.7 Ultron. Had the Skopar before. Like the Ultron better for its image rendition properties, so the Skopar got sold.
50/1.5 Nokton. Hate the fact that it's been in the repair shop twice, but bought it used so I have no clue what the previous owner did to it. Awesome image quality, especially f4-5.6.
75/2.5 Heliar. I love the way it renders images. It's not as sharp as the 90 or 50, but does render great tones.
90/3.5 Lanthar. Rarely used and will probably sell. It's sharp but the 75 gets used more. Will post a review on my CV Fansite as soon as I can put the images together.

I only recently got my first rangefinder, a vintage S3, which came equipped with a Jupiter 8 50 f2. It's so-so, but I wanted at least one wider and one longer lens, so I just got the CV 21/f4. Shot my first roll yesterday, so I don't know what the image quality is like just yet.
I'm still learning the basics of focus/compose/shoot, and as yet, don't think my compositions will be as good as I get with my SLRs.
I plan on buying the CV 85 next month, and likely will replace the 50 with either a Nikkor or the CV when I rob my little Sister's piggy bank.
Things change over time.
It's now January 2009, and I've got CV 21 f4 and 35 2.5, as well as Nikkors: 85 f2, 105 2.5 and 135 3.5.

rbsinto,
I do not know if any J8s that were built for the Nikon mount. It is slightly different from the Contax mount, with the J8s were built for (Kiev bodies). While they will fit on her, they are just off enought that it might be causing your problem.
I am not sure which I would go with, a good old Nikkor 50 or a CV. The Nikkor will be internal mount, where as the CV will be external (slightly bigger). I have a chrome 50/1.4 Nikkor and love it.
Rather than a CV, look for a 105/2.5 Nikkor, it should actually cost you less. The 105 is slightly longer but a GREAT lens. The Nikkor 85/2 is great also. Speed helps and the S3 can focus them accurately even really close-up.

Shaken, so blurred
Just recently bought the 28/1.9 Ultron. I haven't had any sample shots back from it yet, but I'm hoping it will do me nicely in a focal length I use only occasionally (but really miss when I want to use it and don't have it).

Looking at the figures, there is a weird correlation between 35/1.2 and 50/2.5
owners (I don't count 50/2 H, since it is a much newer lens than the other
two). Is there any reason? They are such a different lenses...

Similar numbers for sure, but perhaps not the same members own both? For instance I have the 50 Skopar but not the 35 Nokton.pau3 said:Looking at the figures, there is a weird correlation between 35/1.2 and 50/2.5 owners.... Is there any reason? They are such a different lenses...

12,15,21,40.
The 40 1.4 is what I've been keeping on the camera despite the fact that I have some very fine lenses in my 35 lux ASPH and 50 lux. But that could be because I just got it a few days ago...

The 28mm f/1.9 and the 75mm f/2.5. However, I also have the Rollei Sonnar 40mm f/2.8 which is part CV, I understand. (Rollei manufactured in Germany, housing by CV. Or, something like that.)
