Hey guys, I'm looking for a smaller bag to fit a Mamiya 7, 65mm and Metz 40mz. I already have the Domke F-2 but would like something a little smaller. Any recommendations? I love Domke bags but would consider something else if the fit is right.
Has anyone used the F-803? Seems like it has a pretty slim profile.

I don't know the size of the Metz, but if it's not too big the 5XB would good. I've used the 5XB with the Mamiya 7 with 80mm attached. I also had a Contax T2 in the bag.
When I was carrying 2 extra lenses, I used the "slightly smaller bag", for which I can't remember the number. But with just the one lens, the 5XB would be my choice.

Have a look at the J-803, it is just a bit bigger than the F-803 to take a laptop and the few extra inches make all the difference.

Try Domke F-6. (Essentially an F2 minus the side pockets, and a bit shallower.
I find it especially useful with a two column insert, which then provides two variable larger sections.

I'd recommend the Domke f3x bag. It has enough room for a couple boxes of film, light meter, and I put my fuji 6x7 in there with a metz 45 ct5. Switched over to the vivitar 285 now, but it's a great bag.

Not Domke, but I put my Mamiya 7, film and an extra lens in a Billingham Hadley Small. It's a really nice bag.

Anyone tried a Domke F-8 for the Mamiya 7? It's a smaller version of the F-3X. I used to have an F-3X for my Mamiya 6 with the standard lens (which I sold) and it was nice but maybe a little big. I'm getting a Mamiya 7 with the 65 and am between the F-3X, the F8 and the F-6. I tend to like shallower bags and the side pockets are nice but not essential. Don't like the deep, narrow, J-Series. Also the F-3X is now much more expensive than it used to be. Do however prefer the single center catch to the double ones.

Sans the Metz, I used an F-803 for the very same combination last time I took the kit to Mumbai. Although I don't really like bags that require me to dismantle the lens form the camera, it actually worked very well with the slim profile and there was certainly more than enough room for the the flash

+1 for the F6, you can have the insert all the way to one of the sides, leaving more room for the camera with lens and you get the 4 slots on the padded insert for the flash, an extra lens, a bottle of water etc.

Does the F6 have any velcro to secure the top flap or do you only have the two clips? Not sure it really matters but for shooting I'd probably leave the top unclipped.

Perhaps there should be a "Photos of equipment-filled xxxxxxx bags" for each major brand, or all brands in one big thread. That way people who already own these bags could post pics with the bag stuffed with whatever gear they normally carry, then people looking to buy a new bag can just eyeball the pictures and decide "oh, it looks like my *insert equipment here* will fit into that *insert bag here*"

I've got a bunch of bag videos here:

Maybe one will work for you.

How about an F-4AF? nice roomy compartment for the M7, a smaller padded one for the lens, another for the flash.
Edit: Well, I watched Matt's reviews. Maybe the F-3x would be better. Nice and roomy and flexible.

Ended up with an F6. Seems about right. Wish it had the single clip and velcro of the F-3X but otherwise a good size. Just removed the dividers and ploped the 7 with the 65 attached right in the center with room for stuff on either side.

The F6 is a great, small-ish bag. Sometimes I think I need an F2 when I need a bigger kit, but so far I've resisted.
