Which hood for this Elmar 50mm f/2.8

Fellas help me out here which hood for this particular lens.......pics attached below as I know there are a few variations..........my first Leica that I picked up last week 😀

I've got the Elmar 50/2.8 in LTM, and like all the 2.8 versions it has a 39mm thread for hood or filter. Rather than wait for a hood to come up on ebay or in classifieds here, I ordered one from B&H Photo. They have the hood for the current Elmar-M 50/2.8 in chrome and black. Works just fine on my older version of the lens.

BTW, that's a very nice looking kit you've got there!

The vented 12585 fits on this Elmar, but to be in time phase with this M2, the 12580/ITOOY would be better (although not that convenient).

The Leitz IROOA is the better solution, for me, or 12585. As alternative, the B+W 900 rubber collapsible in 39 mm size.

I would choose IROOA for previous version, and 12585 for new 50/2.8

I agree with Steve (Bingley) above that the best hood for the 50/2.8 is the newer 39mm screw on hood made for the newer M version of this lens. I have the 12585, the IROOA and the newer 39mm screw on hood and find this latter one to be perfect even for my older Elmar 50/2.8 m-mount lens.
