I like 40mm (not on the list). I like leaf shutters, better than FPs (ease of flash use), so I use '60s, '70s cameras. But they have focal lengths from 38 to 45mm. I do have LTM and SLR cameras so I reluctantly settle for 35mm.
 
thanks to the wonders of roller derby, I voted 'something else'. that something is my longest fastish lens - the 105/1.8 AIS, generally on my beater F5

50s Forever

I use 50mm at least 75% of the time, maybe more. If I do go buy a new (to me) camera, the first lens I pick up for it is a 50.
 
I went out for a days shooting with my first roll in the seven rolls in seven days project a couple of days ago.

I took my OM-1 with 35, 50 and 85mm lenses and to my suprise realised when I got home that I had only used the 35mm and 85mm which is interesting considering I regard myself as predominantly a 50mm shooter!

The new late series Zuiko 35mm f2 I got from maitani is one hell of a lens! Flare resistant and very sharp right through the range!
 
I noticed that 28mm Biogon is allmost all the time on my Zeiss Ikon. 50mm is the the bag but 28 is the focal lenght with what I capture a moment.
 
I voted 35mm, and that had been true for about a year, but now I find myself drifting back to 50. Partly because the Carl Zeiss Sonar 50/1.5 (1950s model) is hands-down the best lens I own!
 
These are all fixed-length lenses listed here, but I really do use zooms more than anything else. The 35-70mm zoom for the Olympus OMs gets the most use. After that, it's a tossup between the 28mm and the 50mm.
 
28mm I'd say.

35 is sweet though. 50 can be too long at times and sometimes 28 too wide. It's a challenge to make some things work with the 28 sometimes. 35 I rarely have to think about that and it never frustrates me too much for lack of a few more or less millimeters 🙂
 
i have always thought, for me anyway, the finder sets the focal length. In the newer M's, after M3, the best frame is usually the 35. In an SLR without those frames, i really enjoy the 28mm. On my M3,M6 it's the 50mm Collapsible Summicron. i own more 50's than any other focal length with different systems..
i voted 50.
 
I have three lenses 50 /35 /90 mm and I prefer 50mm to 35mm on street shooting and some times switch to 35mm . I have few Leica Ms , and seen lot of photography done on 28mm on M RF cameras too.😀
