What's your favourite lens to be used on a barnack leica?

I've had/ currently have/ or will soon
Summitar (sold to fefllow RFFer)
Jupiter 8 currently using
Jupiter 12 (making its way from DVD technik)
Industar 22 (generously donated by fellow RFFer on its way from the USA - thanks reagan!)

I tend to used the barnack like a snap shooter. Gave up with the whole metering thing. Used some of the techniques you guys gave in a previous thread. Occasionally, I attempt portraits with the 50 but that is now a problem since I sold my summitar.

After reading recent discussions, I tested out the J8 wide open close up and noticed that it does not focus accurately. It works well otherwise.
It's not a rangefinder issue with the camera because I did not have the same problems with the summitar. must be the film/flange/shim issue.

Wondering if the Jupiter 12 and Industar 22 will have the same problems.

Very tempted to get a CV lens... hmmm...

After I got it cla'd by Sherry, I like my Canon 35mm f3.2, it is a great lens for snap shooting. Next my 50mm Elmar f3.5, after having it for 44 years, you know what it will and will not do.

I like the following 4 lenses on my IIIa:

The photo are all good, I particularly like the first one. I am surprised the quality of the lenses, thanks for sharing the photos.

I can't speak as to the Industar 22, but I use a 1987 black Jupiter 12 on my Leica IIIf RD and it focuses just fine. Many of the airplane photos in my gallery were made with this combination.

No pics yet ... but I'm waiting in sweet anticipation to using my newly acquired IIIc with 50 Elmar and 50 Summitar.

Just got a IIIf yesterday. I have two lenses that fit it: c/v Color Skopar 35/2.5 and Canon 60/1.8. I've been using these lenses on my Bessa R and they are very good lenses indeed. I expect they'll do as well on the IIIf.

I don't have a barnack, but I do have a Zorki2c which is a barnack copy. I like my 50/3.5 Leitz elmar. I can collapse the lens and stick it into a jacket pocket. Nifty!:)

i love my 5 cm elmar and summitar the most. my 35mm elmar is a fine lens, too, but i prefer it on my m5, as i refuse to use my universal vf or guess at framelines.

Thanks Wes, that photo was a visit with my son (now almost 11) to the Empire State building July just prior to 9/11. We were visiting NY and although I grew up there, drove taxi and worked near the trade Center one summer, I had never been atop the Empire State Building until that day, about twenty three years after leaving NY.

PS I second Wes' praise of JKelly's images above. All three different and strong each in it's own way.

I only have two lenses so far. I have the I-22 and the Elmar 5cm, f3.5. I would like to get an Elmar 90mm and something in the 24mm range.

Thanks for sharing all of the photographs they are fantastic to look at.
