i love 35mm focal length now so i bought the 35/1.2 but a year ago i was a devoted 50 shooter and quietly wished for a superfast 50 from voigtlander. however, now that there is a superfast 50 i have no desire to get it.

horses for courses, i think that is your answer.

I have a summulux 75 and a 21 asph so I need a 35 !!!!!!!!!!The problem is :
I need a nokton 35/1,2 or
I need a summilux 35/1,4 asph?????????????????

I feel like the character of the 50 1.1 is more like the cv 35 1.4 than the 1.2, thus I have the 1.2 because I personally prefer it. But I have not used the 50 and think day-to-day use could be decided more by the length than anything.

If it was my set, and I was planning on carrying it everyday, I think it would be between slightly slower yet much smaller (and possibly cheaper) lenses.

I'd say neither, at least not for me and not for day to day shooting. The weight/size penalty over a 1.4 lens is considerable and focussing wide open at close ranges becomes a hit/miss afair.

I agree with pvdhaar. Both of those lenses are certainly suitable for use at any aperture, but in terms of weight and bulk neither would be my first choice for day to day use, unless it's a question of having just one lens for everything.

If you're going to get one, get the 35mm, because the 50mm will be almost a tele, and you won't be able to get half the shots you want...

Anyway, for the same money, size and weight, I would get the Nokton 40mm f/1.4 and a wonderful small wideangle for my pocket...

Cheers,

Juan

If you have no preference towards either focal length, I'd say the Nokton 35. In the samples I've seen, it renders beautifully, the 50 is an awful lot less interesting in comparison. But obviously that is highly subjective.

On a M7 0.85 a 35 takes up most of the screen. I love the 35/1.2, it focuses very accurately. I picked up a CV 35/2.5 for a backup. It is so small, almost a pound less. Now what?

i've just paid for a 35 1.2. the 1.1 is pretty much a perfect lens performance wise but it the images do not scream to me as much as those made using my 50 preasph lux and 50 sonnar. furthermore, i only have 1 35mm and it's a slow-ish summicron.

what do you have already? what focal length do you like to shoot? what body are you shooting on?

i have both and use them both quite often. depends on what i'm shooting...

Thanks for the reply s,
I've used a 5d mk II with a 50mm f/1.4 for a long time now,
and I want a lens to use everyday but I just one to invest on a single lens since I rather invest in digital
I think I'm gonna get the 35mm just for the sake of change and trying out a new focal range
I'll shoot on an M6
