I am courious to read good photo magazines from all over the world. With the internet it is easy to find old pdf copies or just browse the magazine directly to the home page of the mag.

Here in Italy we have a lot of choices but the quality is average. My monthly mag is TuttiFotografi just because there is a good second hand classifieds section and a couple of portfolios presented each month.

Which magazine do the RFF members read?

I subscribe to Black+White Photograpy and buy BJP on an ad-hoc basis. Was a subscriber to JPG (which I loved) until I got shafted with the digital PDF only situation for my remaining subsription. I will not be re-subscribing.

Its a shame Burn isn't published on paper. I would sign up for that without a second's thought.

Oh look - my first post after eons of lurking :D

Over here the oldest - 'Amateur Photographer' is still about the only one not completey dominated by Photoshop hints and tricks, and repetitive beginer advice. Not the mag. it was a few years ago, it still has esteemed contributors - Geoffrey Crawley, Ivor Matanle, and of course - our own Roger Hicks, along with one or two others of similar calibre, to make a decent weekly read!......and of course I always start at the inside back page first! ;)
Dave.

Black+White (UK) some interesting images and general interest articles
B&W (USA) Good historical images - nice article on the Mexican Suitcase in March 2010 edition
Photo (FR) Great journalistic content
Ag+ (UK) Superb technical darkroom/photoshop content
Photo Techniques (US) Great technical articles
Lenswork (US) Superb portfolios

I used to always buy Black & White Photography Magazine (UK) but it seems to becoming more of a computer magazine of late whittering on about backup solutions and metadata tagging which I don't personally have any interest in. I just want to look at pictures, not read a camera review which reads just the same as the one in the previous month's edition.

So now I tend to buy none at all. :(

I no longer read any photo magazines... I could probably get some thoughtful viewing from Lenswork but I've got unread issues from a previous subscription. I'd rather be "doing something" (or even online here) than sitting reading a magazine. Popular Photography can be interesting to scan quickly just to see what's new, but the articles are so very repetitious...

I'll also recommend LensWork Magazine. It's a bit on the pricey side but focused purely on images and portfolios (not digital and reviews). Other than that, I can't find a good B&W film publication in the US. I'm curious to see what others read.

Thank you for your recommendations. Lot of search to be done here.

Pawel, when I visited Krakow in 2004 I noted a large number of Photo mag and Photo shops; I got the impression that photograph has a great following in Poland.

David, what about Shutterbug? I though Roger Hicks was contributing there as well...

Cheers,

I too regulary read Amateur Photographer . If you weed out the camera reviews, which as others have said are monotonous in tone , there are some good articles and like Dave I always start at the back page.

I have bought the odd edition of Black and White Photography but I' m usually dispointed. Nice prints but but most the articles feel disapointingly thin

Chris
