White

Those are awesome shots, Christer, especially the first one.

And Rob, I like how you went to the effort of painting that building white for the second shot.

Bob, how does a Vermonter like you know Chatham? You're not from around these parts, are you?

Actually, this house is in New Vernon/Harding, quite close to Chatham. Big old mansion/farmhouse whose acreage has been subdivided into a bunch of six acre lots for McMansions. This house is probably going to be torn down to make way for a $4M+ house. Terrible pity. Anyway, the windows are out because of a fire. Suspicious, I think. Maybe the developer was hoping to save on demolition costs by having the fire department - volunteer fire department - do it for him, or, it was kids partying at the abandoned place. There's a pool house at the back of the property that I think is occupied by some uninvited squatters periodically - a Land Rover Defender-driving squatter no less. This property is surrounded by some very nice rolling pasture land that will hopefully be protected in perpetuity from development (the cynic in me is constantly at war with the optimist; let's see who wins).

Nice neighborhood there Rob. Chatham?

I grew up in Kearny (thus my eye for chainlink), and lived in the city for a long time after college.

Ah ha!

You need a subscription to Weird New Jersey.

Got you on the chain link. Plenty of that there in Kearny.

If you make it down this way or into the city, holler so we can get together.
