I know exactly where you're coming from Frida, I have a camera that cost more than my car did. Another problem is foreign trips with these cameras, because most insurance policies don't like 'em. I've got bitten on depreciation too. I just use cameras from one to four generations old. I have some nice 3mp pictures taking with ordinary house lighting.Now that you know where I'm coming from...
Who else enjoys using cheap or simple cameras for most daily photography? And if so, what do you use and why?

I can relate to the OP. I have Leica SLRs and rangefinder, plus an assortment of Leica lenses. Yet, I rarely use them for fear of damaging them and thus their value. I'm a film only guy, and I love my $20-$50 film SLRs and rangefinders and equally cheap lenses. I feel more at ease using them, knowing that dropping or losing them is no big deal.

I'll just bet you have! I've just acquired the fisheye for my Coolpix 990 - it's only taken thirteen years to find one at a price I'm prepared to pay!
