I am tired of inverting tnks and I go through too many roll of film; my elbow is sore!

I picked up a roller base in the RFF classifieds. Mostly I use patterson tanks but I also have JOBO. Looks to me like most tanks will fit just fine and the base has an auto revese direction.

The tanks are marked and it is on the web the volume of chemicals to use with hand and roller so I have that. All of my c-41 and e 6 chemistry gives detailed info on using a roller system.

I am a bit in the dark on B+W. I generally use rodinal 1:50 or d 76 1+1. The rodinal times are based on ASA and vary from 16min to 60. Normally I invert for the frst 30 seconds then 3 nversions per 30' , per min or per 3 min depending n the overall development time required. D 76 1+1 is mor eor less the same basic system How best do I translate this to roller time?

thanks

I use a Jobo CPE 2+. I've found that using Jobo's instructions for the amount of developer and taking 10 percent off my times for inversion processing is a good starting point. As with any darkroom procedure, take notes on how each batch works out along with the variables that are updated. It doesn't take long to achieve a set of variables that works.

All the best,

I'm using a uniroller base with uniroller tanks. I have instruction manuals at home somewhere. Let me know if you want a copy. The instructions say to reduce times by 15% for b&w to account for constant agitation. What brand of roller did you get?

I had a job when I was doing color, but when I dropped color film, I decided it was overkill for B+W so I just bought a uniroller on ebay for $10. I used it with jobo drums for 4x5 8x10, Mf and now only shoot 35mm in B+W.

I use the Unicolor Uniroller, and the Unicolor Print Drum for sheets, and the Film Drum for roll film. Works great for me.
