Maybe like many here, the DSLR Exchange site has been forgotten? I know I did, and after going over there a bit ago was suprised how quiet it is over there, but I will spend more time there now...... Could it be most folks have RF & SLR cameras and naturally gravitate here. We should try to show the DSLr Exchange a bit more love tho, don't ya think :D

I prefer just signing on to one forum (RFF) for the same reasons I do not do twitter, facebook, myspace, yourspace, hisspace, etc. It is also the reason I wish I could throw my cell phone into a lake. Crap I need it for my job.

My only SLR system is OM, and I don't even own a DSLR. (I know they cover film SLRs too) And it seems there are many OM fans here on RFF. And I just like the attitude of RFF much more than other forums.

Yes, they have extended a welcome to film SLR's and it seems for the most part it is populated by many of the fine folks we see here....

I came for the RF discussion, but now that the only RF i still own is an Electro 35 with a dead battery, I stay for the people and the discussions which tend to cover all aspects of photography.

Oh yes, this is a great forum, the best in cyberspace as far as I'm concerned. I was just addressing this to the folks that contribute to the "Evil SLR" forum. And I will continue to hang out here as well, I was just wondering why the many folks who are active here don't go to the DSLReX site as often.

I think the name of the site is the "problem" for many of the forks here. :D

I didn't even think about checking it out until I saw this thread because of the name. Thanks for sharing. :)

You would think there would be more activity there. It's shown as a cool link on the RFF home page, and lots of the folks who do participate there are members here as well. Is there such a terrible stigma attached to SLR use people are afraid to admit they use them??? ;)

Too little traffic on Dslrexchange to make it worthwile to regulary check out. You really need a critical mass to get a site going, something that's hard to achieve for what's basically a spin-off site. Same goes for thecameraforum.com, the other spin-off by this site's founder.

I know where you're coming from ... I used to frequent a couple of other sites occasionally but it soon starts to seem a bit fragmneted. This place gets nearly all my internet time and if I ever get completely bored with it I'll just move to another forum totally.

Spend sufficient time at a particular forum and you relate better to it ... and the regular members IMO!

I might add that I don't think this place is quite what it was a couple of years ago ... as it's grown in numbers it's changed somewhat. Less personal and a little superficial IMO ... the price of fame I guess! :p
