Firstly, I don't have a ton of experience scanning... I have made scans of my B&W negs using Minolta, and Nikon 5000 and 9000 scanners. They are very high res. But, when I use those files to make web sizes, say 2000 pixel, images, they look much grainier than do my actual condenser enlarger prints. When I have my local ''pro' lab make low or medium resolution scans on their Noritsu (with noise reduction I'm sure), they look vastly better at the small sizes I need.
So, what's going on here? And, is their a post scan way to clean up my "grittier" looking scans? Is a dedicated film scanner not the best option for low res images?

Only experience I have is with a Nikon 8000 scanner. The B&W are not coming out nicely, so I always do a color scan. The color scans come out without (to) much grain.
