why no hood for the 27?

i thought that i had read that fuji has a newer, improved lens coating that negates the need for a hood...but i can't find that again to verify.

anyone else read that or read anything that explains why there is no hood?

I bet they have just decided to save up on this package to make it cheaper than regular $600. This doesn't bother me much as 39mm lens hood for 35mm-40mm are dime a dozen on ebay. I don't believe that any lens should be used without hood, no matter how advanced coating are used (as they won't shield the lens from accidental bumps.)

I don't bother with hoods anyway. I like my pancakes flat!
