Okay . . . I have been trying to pin down why my Widelux F7 will not hold the film tight against the sprocket wheel.

It seems the take up reel is "loose" and will keep slipping back, causing the film to eventually slacken and come loose from the sprockets. When loading, I'm curling the film just like I should, and everything is nice and tight before putting the back on. . . . initially at least all seems well. In fact, if I quickly fire off the entire roll, there is no problem at all. But, set the camera dowm for any length of time, and the take up reel will start to creep back, and the next time I try to advance, there's that lovely crackling noise of the film juddering off the sprockets.

I have seen some diagrams on the web for dealing with the Widelux shutter, but nothing on the take up spool and clutch. Is there some general procedure for tightening up a loose take up reel?

I love this camera. H E L P !

Bob Watkins at Precision Camera Works in Chicago is the man to see about Widelux repairs. He still has a stock of parts for the F7.
