OK, these are absolutely silly/daft but I am finding it hard to resist.
Expensive but I honestly think they are not overpriced.
I consider them art and not functional cameras.
Really, as cool as they look, I really do not need this kind of decoration in my home right now.
But still that J-8 lens...

It'd be cool if I could send them any camera for this treatment.

Those been available for a while. White and blue are close assembly of Gzhel.

The rest is some wild interpretation.
I have next to dozen of FSU LTMs. Gave away only one working one. It was still working because it was newest one (FED-5).
Remaining are all with uneven exposures. Including Oleg's one which he send as replacement for non working one sold as working. And Zorki which was serviced by another known person, but drifted within few months after I re-purchased it.
Maybe I should send this FSU junk to this re-painting service.
I'm glad I finally sourced just serviced Leica IIIc.

I don't know anything about Russian art/handicraft styles but after looking at some of the other things referenced in that link Ko.Fe. provided, I can see some resemblances to Gorodets style and to Khokloma.
These are clearly not "traditional" art pieces but an interpretation of those traditional styles.
If I decide to get one, I am not expecting anything more than something pretty to display. I can't imagine being able to actually use one. Likely the painted finish on these wouldn't tolerate very much handling and isn't really the point of them anyway.
There could certainly be a discussion about traditional arts and crafts and how--or even if--they can or "should" be used in a modern context but I simply do not have the knowledge or the vocabulary for such a discussion. If any of you folks do, I will happily read that conversation, though! (And, as I'm typing this response, I am really missing Roger Hicks and wondering what his take on this would be.)
