Mainly for language study and cultural interest (I am studying roman studies). I will, of course, have difficulties trying not to take a lot of photos in an environment that's new to me with lots of fresh impressions. That's for sure. :)
So far, I am planning on making it a pure medium format journey, at least at the moment.

I am planning on spending mid of july to mid of september there. I am rather aiming on going to the north, as it is supposed to be less hot there. Santander has quite caught my attention.

As I am still looking for a room in a shared flat, preferredly, I thought I'd ask here if either of you guys has a room to spare (I am willing to pay rent, of course!), or knows someone who'll be happy to fill a vacant room.
If you wanna help me with that, contact me via PM, please.

Ah, one more thing. North is not a must, absolutely not. If you can suggest me something you think is too good to miss out on only because it might be a little sweaty - please do point it out!

Cheers,
David

Hey David, Santander is a very nice place.. Im originally from Asturias, about 1 1/2 hrs away.. The climate is cooler than down south, the only downfall is that sometimes it might rain for a whole month....

Thanks for your reply. That's certainly good to know.

I was also considering Sevilla, Salamanca, Almería.
I am certainly not choosy. Maybe I will try to contact some people from more southwards. I am just a little concerned about heat paralysis.
I'd like a place where I can go to the theatre a lot. Any ideas (apart from Madrid, as i am planning on going there during a winter term on student exchange) about what might be a good place to start with that?

On the other hand, I'd also like to go to a smaller city, as I'd get a bettter idea of a place during that rather short period of time.

The south in the summer is hot... Sevilla streets are empty in the summer until nightfall, only the tourists walking around... lol .
Madrid, Barcelona for sure, one of my favorite cities. Up north, were Im from Oviedo or Gijon are beautiful cities, Gijon is on the coast, Oviedo is great, but a little to clean for me.. : ) I spent a month once driving the whole northern coast, its all the same climate, great towns along the way, the Basque Region, Santander, Asturias, Galicia. All very green, mountains, old architecture. Nowhere near as flat as the rest of Spain.

AlLright!

I will be in Santander from july, 14, to september, 14.
I'd love to meet some people there, so if you care to meet up, go ahead and text me!

If you want a trip to finish off, go up into the Picos Europa and follow the river Ebro across to Barcelona. Then look around Barcelona before going home ;)

Well, I am from Bilbao, but live some 8 km from downtown and not much further from the airport.

If you need any help, just say it ;)

Cheers

Alfonso
