Totally beside myself, I responded to several M9 threads yesterday and found myself quite amazed at Leica's ability to overcome both technical and marketing hurdles. With the M9 at the center.

But, life moves on. I have a date with my daughter and my dad this weekend to go to an antique car festival in a nearby suburb. No M9 thoughts, just me and a couple of old film cameras. Life is good.

I'm thinking of buying an M9 to test the collimation of J-3's, Zeiss Sonnars, and ZK Sonnars.

I will open a new thread on shimming Russian lenses for use on the M9 when I do.

I can`t wait to see the results of "vintage" lenses on the M9....I`m going to still hold out a while till the camera`s established and the price comes down slightly, then I`ll be selling/trading off stuff to get a body to work with myself.

Then I`ll open a thread about using one to shoot Retro PinUps and Art Nudes, with vintage glass....... 😉

A local instructor arrived with M8.2, tripod, and Leica glass from the 70's, to compare the same scenes with the M9, -- much too organized for me, I arrived without a camera, just an SD card. ;-), actually I did not know the M9 was going to be there for sure and if I would be allowed to really handle it, but turnout was low, but everyone was pretty much very interested.

Good question that since the M8 was using the center of the glass, would the lenses deliver to the edge of the frame on the M9, I suspect Roger and the guys to look at this.
