Winter GAS check - Nocticron 42.5 f1.2

Not me. I'm 100% happy with the Zuiko 45mm f1.8.
It's tiny, a stellar performer, and a fraction of the price.

but it has "cron" in the name, and "nocti" :)

I should really try the 45 1.8 Zuiko, so far every M.Zuiko lens I've got has blown me away

Looks like a mighty big piece of glass. I'd probably get the 75/1.8 before the nocticron. I've had the 45/1.8 for a couple of weeks and have been really impressed.

Zuiko 45mm f1.8.

This is from a live performance, not a studio shoot.

/end hijack.

I already have the 45 1.8, but the photos from this 42mm lens look pretty interesting with that super thin dof.

The thing I need in MFT is a really wide lens. I have enough lenses in "normal" and telephoto angle of view.

The Nocticron 42.5/1.2 is on my wish list, but I suspect I'll be wishing for it a while.

I am quite happy with the Macro-Elmarit 45/2.8 actually. And I've already run into too-little DoF even at f/2.8 ... !

But that Nocticron's wide open imaging is enticing.

The 45/1.8 won't get you the narrow DOF if that's what you're looking for. However, a ~57mm 1.4 SLR lens will get close ... Step back a couple of steps, and focus manually for a very similar look as those posted.
