I have to agree.. I bought one from a private selller last week for $ 1450.00 and thought I did quite well. I also own the 35/1.2 and see more sharpness out of the ASPH. but I'm a sharpness freak like Frank S. Don't waste your money on the 35 Lux non-asph. At that money you'd be ahead by purchasing the CV 35. Owned the 35/1.7 also and found the tapered barrel to be fussy. The 35/1.2 on a budget is a fantastic lens and then you could get maybe the 35II pancake for street shooting in good light. The 35/1.2 is a "Horse"..... the size of a Noct. You can't go wrong with the CV 35, just remember this isn't a lens that you're going to use exclusively because it's a specialized lens used WIDE OPEN to about f4. and then it doesn't matter.....
