You won't find a 35mmLux Aspherical for $1100, not in decent cond anyway. A 35mmCron Asph yes, but not the Lux.

You might get lucky ......but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I have to agree.. I bought one from a private selller last week for $ 1450.00 and thought I did quite well. I also own the 35/1.2 and see more sharpness out of the ASPH. but I'm a sharpness freak like Frank S. Don't waste your money on the 35 Lux non-asph. At that money you'd be ahead by purchasing the CV 35. Owned the 35/1.7 also and found the tapered barrel to be fussy. The 35/1.2 on a budget is a fantastic lens and then you could get maybe the 35II pancake for street shooting in good light. The 35/1.2 is a "Horse"..... the size of a Noct. You can't go wrong with the CV 35, just remember this isn't a lens that you're going to use exclusively because it's a specialized lens used WIDE OPEN to about f4. and then it doesn't matter.....

My opinion

Good Luck

Are you saying $1100 for the pre-Aspherical? You should be able to get one of the versions of the Aspherical for this price.
Not the Lux Huck. Around $1500 - 1800 for the Lux depending on luck/condition.

I've seen some tests of the 35 1.2 CV, and I'd have to say it didn't please me at all - it's ugly wide open. The Nokton 40 is a nice lens. I've used it at F1.4, and it looked fine.

Of course you can go for the slower but prettier Leicas or the Rokkor. Or if you can find an adapter, there are Nikons and Canons. But, for the price, the Nokton is a nice lens.

Enter the coalmine...

Can you post an example of an image shot under those parameters? Perhaps a black cat in a coal mine? 😉

The 35 ASPH 'lux does flare under some conditions- although maybe this can be attributed to using a filter-

Thanks for the photo, now I don't feel so bad about owning the pre asph version. For the price dif I am sure I can live with the older model.

Believe it or not, one sold on eBay this week for $1181 (ser. #365) albeit with wear. I've seen other reports of sales in this range. The pre-Asph 4th version seems to have held its value better.

I take it back Huck! That is an amazing price for the lens... The barrel certainly does show wear but I was encouraged to see a B+W MRC F-Pro filter on the front - the glass is likely in good shape. The only problem is that bargains like this have to be so few and far between, a "good" price for this lens (which would be admittedly in much better cosmetic condition than this - but so what?) is several hundred dollars more.
