I find bidding wars like this just a little too hard to believe.
Wouldn't it be easy to enlist two buddies to bid up the price to something absurd in the hope that a 'mark' will outbid them?
If the mark never comes, how hard would it be to tell Ebay the buyer picked it up in person and relist the item next week?
One of the last straws for Ebay with me was watching one seller 'sell' something like 50 Nikon Coolscan 8000 scanners in a period of about 2 months. The 'selling price' was always close to what a new 9000 would have cost at the time.
Am I just paranoid or is this why things always seem to sell for well over their market value on the E-Block?
